visual basic/oracle problem

Gusy,I need some help/opinion on my problem. I have 2 Oracle 8i server and I have a visual basic program that connects to it. One of my server has a synonym to the other one. My problem is that when my vb program inserts to the synonym of one of my server through the program, it inserts a different record. When I trace the program, the values to be inserted are correct but when I view it on the database, it has incorrect values. There is no problem with the code neither does the table being inserted into has trigger. I think that the problem may be in the database or something. I need your opinion. Thanks in advance.

Additional info: I use a dsn less connection of ado in my vb program. My oracle db version is 8i and my Oracle client is 8i also. I'm running the program in a windows XP/2000 platform.

There are NLS settings for each session in Oracle.
If you connect via a database link (soubnds like what you're doing") the session on the other side of the link will use the default NLS settings.

ie., if there was a tagalog NLS setting on one side, and an English setting on the other side, this would happen.

At any rate, it's NLS that is causing the problem.
