USB Re-direction. Will I have to write a USB driver?

I've got 2 devices that talk through USB and I'd like to sniff the messages between them. The only problem is they do not have windows or linux drivers for them. Its strictly a point to point usb connection between the devices.

Is there an easy way route the message through my USB ports so I can record them? mitm-style.
I figured I would have to write a custom device driver for each device and route it via software drivers, but I was hoping there would be something easier... ie. /dev/usb1 > /dev/usb2

Figured I would ask before getting started with tutorials on writing USB device drivers. TIA.

You're probably better off finding a way to feed it through serial ports.
