usb device driver for wireless network adapter

Hello,

I have a wireless network adapter: Linksys WUSB11 V4. It uses the chip: ALI M4301. There is no linux driver for it. But there are drivers for Linksys WUSB11 V2.6 which uses the chip AT76c503.

The wireless nic uses usb port. I'm wondering, is it possbile to reverse-engineer the usb connection and then modify the existing driver, so it works for the new device? Any input is welcome.

Thanks in advance,

lordofring

Anything is possible but you might want to look into ndiswrapper to use your existing windows drivers to work with linux. You could also check out the linux-wlan-ng project and see if they support your card.
