Hi friends,
i just read about curses, so i thought to make some simple programe on curses but as i tried to see man pages on curses it is saying that is no such entry, but when i tries it with this command ( man -a curs* ), it showing thoses pages, but with strange section like 3X(eg curs_getch(3X) ) .
can anybody know that how can i see those manual pages which have section 3X.
thankx
regards,
alok
You can run "man -k curs*" to get a list of man pages with a short description.
The way to see manual sections is to specify it on command line:
e.g. man 3X curs_window.
Oddly enough though on my system it said no page found in section 3X but just doing "man curs_window" displayed the man page labled as 3X. Presumably its mislabled as to which section it is in. On checking I found these are actually in man section 3 rather than 3X. (man 3 curs_window).
