transparent gui using gtk

hi all

i need to develop a transparent widgets.
at present am using gtk for gui.
but i am unable to find the transparent gui in linux.

is it possible to create gui like transparent.(mean more effective)
please give me an example code (source ) for this.

i am using fedora 9.

any help, it is great.

Gtk supports rgba color (meaning with alpha channel) and therefore you may set any widget to transparent values.

See the Gtk programming reference for your Gtk version, there's always some examples included.
