Question Tomcat plugin for Eclipse

I have downloaded the zip file and unzipped it and moved it to the plugin directory (/usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/). When I follow the instructions to go to windows->customise perspective->command etc I cannot see the plugin listed in the command list. At least there is no plugin labelled tomcat. Tomcat5 is installed and running and I use Eclipse version 3.1.0. What could be the problem ?

Thanks

I assume you mean the webtools project?

http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/

Make sure you also install the plugins it depends on such as emf, gef, and VE.

Also I noticed you were installing manually as root in /usr/share/eclipse, this is generally a bad idea

It's probably best to install it locally as a normal user using the eclipse update manager

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates/

There are plans for a webtools rpm for FC5 but it's still in development.
