Timer questions

I'm using C/C++ on a Mandrake 9 system. I would like to be able to time how long it takes a process to run. I would also like to be able to control when a process starts and stops using timer control. I'm having no success getting ITIMER, SIGALRM, etc. to work properly. Any suggestions?
Gobo Fraggle,

Which "improper" results are you getting?
It's a bit hard to help without a background :}

Maybe you can find what you need using search?

Cheers,
Tink
