timeout to call back funtion

I am trying to sniff the packets with the Net::Pcap:pen_live and Net::Pcap::loop. But how can i add a time out for the call back function?

i.e. if i did'nt receive any packets for a given time, the call back function has to exit.

Thanks in advance
