Threaded RMIServer

HI

I have made a client server application using Rmi,I am able to connect multiple clients but there is some problem. In the code client type a command to change the directory of the server Eg: "Cd C:\temp" this command changes the server working directory to C:\temp. Now if a new client is connected the working directory of the server is not the default directory but the directory specified by the previous client.
I am not able to figure out that :

1. Is this really a problem
2. If the answer is yes then how to correct it.
