I am a great fan of C;
Recently i studied Thinking in C++ by bruce Eckel;
Is there any book like that for C?;

What is that book about actually? About thinking in c++ or thinking in OOP ? ;-)
In first case, I supose it is similiar to thinking in C.

As far as i have known thinking in c++ expalins the oops concepts interms of C++. Its a great book. isnt it?
For c language i am studying The C programming language by dennice ritchie. Its a great book, no doubt in it. It is just like C++ programming by Bjourne stroustrup ( ofcourse i havent studied this).
I am looking for a book which expalins the things in C , how C++ was explained in Thinking in C++.
Any body know such kind of book for C?

I have come across a book. Thinking in C at amozon.com .
But its costly( i am from india one $ = 48 rs). I cant buy. please suggest me any other book for free or at affordable price.

If you want to learn the advanced concepts in C, the best book i would say is "C unleashed" ... It costs Rs. 499/- indian edition.

This book is written by nearly 15 authors together so you can expect the required complexity and it is not written by Herbart Schildt. Also the book requires atleast 1 year good experience in C.

Well, IMO the best book about C++ ever is polish 'Symfonia C++' (Symphony). And it's not only my opinion.This book explains properly and quite easy all issues of this language, but it doesnt take C++ syntax as the main problem. More important are all methods ..and just thinking. For me it's right, because it's not very difficult to get to know syntax (it's placed for example in manuals).

K+R
 

For C there is K+R's "The C Programming Language" which is a must-read if you are into C. It's short < 200 pages and written by the guys who invented C + UNIX.

was wondering why "not' herbert schildt? :D

In my copy of "Thinking in C++" I have a CD-ROM which states it has "Thinking in C" on it. It is HTML and not written by Bruce Eckel, but it would be worth a look.

Herbert schild books follow spoon feeding method. So i dont like it.

It seems to me that almost all c books i have seen are the same since the core c language is kinda small. the book by herbert schlidt is a good book for learning it and teaches you just about everything, unless you wanna get into the deitel books(imo too expensive and long winded). Jamsa's c/c++ bible was kinda good too its old(although i thought i saw an updated one with c#) but it teaches borland c which has some libraries that arent in all compilers.

Sorry, I didn't check back. I haven't actually read "Thinking in C" since I learned C by going through Kernighan & Ritchie years ago. I'll check it out on Monday and let you know what I think. (It's at work.)
