hey guys,
thnx 4 all the responses...valuable and funny...one mention of a colleague...and evry1 is out to kill me...lol..I'll try and do the addition directly and check . The reason I posted was that I was retreiving the values into a string I couldn't actually add a string...bad blunder. It later struck me that only int's can be added...sorry for the mistake. .Will continue with my amateurish code and post back for help if needed.
