System V Transport Layer Interface-should I learn it?
hi
Im reading a book on network programming in unix(tho I use Linux OS) and there are two big chapters on Berkeley sockets and the other one on System V Transport Layer Interface(TLI). I know I need Berkeley sockets, but Im not shure if I must know TLI also.I looked briefly trough TLI chapter but I couldn't figure out if TLI is alternative to berkeley sockets or something required to know So must I learn TLI also or not? Is it just an alternative to berkeley sockets? How often is TLI used in modern day network programming? any help would be welcomed |
im going to say no.. b/c i skipped that stuff as well :D
