Unhappy Syslog???


Hi all!
I am writing a script for my firewall. I use iptables.
Does anyone know how i can get iptables to log to another file like /var/log/iptables???

(I heared i could use syslog but i cant get it to work)

It should be possible with syslog. I just hope, i figure out how it works soon.

I added the line:
kern.* /var/log/iptables

to the file /etc/syslog.etc. Now it logs all messages from iptables, but does anyone know how i can filter out the other kernel messages????
