SVN

I've been looking into SVN lately and have been testing a small imaginary project.

Now I have a basic grasp I wanting to apply it to my main project. However my project is a CMS which uses modules (which lie within the main project directories).

How do I manage the modules, because if I update them it'll be classed as an update to the base project and their not.

Do I tell SVN to ignore everything in the module directory and set up a separate project for each module (within the main project structure). If so am I likely to run into other issues?

How do you do it?

I would suggest creating a new project for each module that exists at the
same level as your main project. Either that or create a single project
named "modules" that is the same level as the main project, and then create
each module under the modules project.

By storing the modules as you suggest, they won't be in the right place for development, so i'd either have to copy them at every revision or link in the directory (not tried linking with SVN yet, but may lead straight back to the original issue), which seems somewhat un-productive.

Cheers
