support for graphics in gcc


hey can u tell me how to have support for graphics in gcc

I'm not sure I understand the question, or perhaps, you might be asking something the wrong way.

GCC is just a compiler, it doesn't "support" anything really, it is the source code it compiles that would support things like graphics and audio. If you are asking how to write a graphical application (which you compile with GCC) then you will want to look into GTK on Linux.

As for graphics... your probably going to want to look into using QT or GTK+ if you want to write graphical applications in Linux (and yes.. GCC can compile these things just fine). If you are truly a masochist you can always use libX11 directly as well.

thanx buddies....but all i want is that there is no header file such as graphics.h to provide the functions as stated in the text book by Prat which is in my syllabus...............plz help

graphics.h is not a standard C thing. I think it is a Turbo C thing if I remember correctly. To my knowledge there is no direct equivalent in Linux.

If you use a library of graphics/GUI primitives, you will need to include header files that describe the functions provided by the library. This is a standard C idiom.
