Video/Audio Streaming in Website

we have a project which requires a website wherein we have to play certain files(audio/video) using VideoLan and Shoutcast.

we have no idea how to do it. can you give a step by step process or a detailed one?do we have to use PHP? are there any alternatives or easier ways?

thanks.

You can use any one of a number of web programming languages, but you ask a very broad question. You don't say what you've got now, anything about your resources, Linux, or anything else, other than you need to stream audio/video.

Some details will help us help you. If you're totally new at everything, and need a website deployed, you have two options. One is to take it step by step....learn how to write/deploy web pages first, then learn how streaming media works, and integrate the two.

The second is to hire a consultant to do it for you.

Yes, but again, you're speaking in very broad terms.

You're asking for a step-by-step guide to set up a LOT of software, customized for your environment. And you say "web design in a windows environment"....well, fine. What kind of web pages? Running on Windows, or on Linux? ASP? Java? PHP? What?? Serving how many users?

The short answer is, yes, it's very possible to have your streaming content on Linux, and web pages on Windows. And it's possible to get all this running on one Linux box.
