Stop webpages opening in Frontpage

This is a question which is really a concept rather than a question..

Microsoft Frontpage, you gan open ANY webpage for edition, so for example, i coould open the Hotmail frontpage. And edit the page layout in Fronptage, then save the whole thing to my PC's hard disk...

Is there anything i could add to a webpage to stop someone opening it and editing it in frontpage?

A web page is just a text document that has tags in it which your browser recognises to tell it how to display the document.

It's not just Frontpage that can do this. You can just do "view page source" from any web browser and save the contents of the file to your local disk for editing.

By publishing a page to the internet, you have to accept that it is possible for someone else to use your content. You have to go to great lengths if you want to prevent it.

Code youre entire website in Java or Flash...

flash, the code spawn of satan.. So often used wrong, and in rare cases sites created in flash have been know to load the same day...

And thank you i know what a webpage is, i was just asking if it is a concept which could be workd around, and i guess not..
I'm not worried about using my content, Am am trying to stop a class of teenagers from creating bogus websites trying to trick people into entering hotmail passwords into non hotmail accounts..

Ah, now we have a better understanding of what you're trying to do and your level of knowledge.

I think you have two options.

1) Use your firewall to deny access to the entire Hotmail domain from the classroom PCs (they shouldn't be checking their email during lessons anyway!)

2) Threaten to hit them with a bick stick if you catch them diong it.

It's definatley something that you could not solve easily.
