Starting out coding Linux

Hi All,

I've got a few languages under my belt and I'd class myself as a pretty competent Linux user. I'm looking to get "elbow-deep" and start coding device drivers and custom kernels and generally messing around under the hood.

Any suggestions on where to start? I have found that a lot of sites focus on just one area, whereas I'm looking for the basics on going from Linux user to Linux Dev.

Hi,

About languages, as far as Linux is concerned C is a must.

I would go to kernelnewbies.org, especially dive into KernelHacking.

Do not forget your water wings

And, you could participate at a project.
