Does anyone have any experience with Sourcforge? I've written a semi finished project in Python and want to upload the code to my Sourceforge page.

The sourceforge doco talks about using CVS but no instruction on how to create CVS repository linked to the sourceforge page or even if that is, for sure the desired method of supplying code. I'd rather just ftp the code into place but any instruction on how it works would be good.

I posted to sourceforge forums but no responses.

If there is anyone there that knows what the protocol is I'd appreciate a tip.

Maybe go to a project page (for a current, active project) on Sourceforge and email the author(s) or maintainers? Ask them how they do it?

I avoid the provided CVS because I don't really want experimental, broken, and testing code out there.

Upload at and go to the File Releases page under Admin on your project page. Normally you will have a package for each portion of your project (i.e. Binary, Library, Documentation, etc.) and will create a new release in each package for the version. As an example:

Package: Binary
Release: program-0.1

Release: program-alpha

Package: Documentation
Release: program-0.1
