The ext2 filesystem is part of the kernel, so head over to kernel.org and pick up a copy of 2.6.15.4. When you untar the source, you will find ext2 in linux-2.6.15/fs/ext2/.

why is this poll not even remotely related to the question? Does that make the post off topic? or the poll?

Moreover, this poll is missing the "none of the above" choice.

Linux is the kernel. A distro is an entire operating system.

<Distro> Linux is an operating system; Microsoft Windows is an operating system.
They are simply tools. Slackware Linux is my choice, and it does many things
more efficiently than Windows. However, it won't run Adobe InDesign or Photoshop
natively, and doesn't have suitable open source software replacements for my use.

Therefore, I dual boot Slackware and Windows eXperiment.

Use the best tool for the job.

Would you want the dentist to use a hammer to fill your tooth?

Perhaps you would like to ride an electric bicycle from Florida to Washington,
to visit your granny for 3 days on your 2 week vacation?

Or how about using Lava soap to brush your teeth, and as a mouthwash?

Does this make as much sense as the poll and OP's post?

Smile

After struggling with Windows for a dozen years, I am happy to be done with it.
