Some more Functionalities with the Designer made form dialog
I have made a form with the help of the designer. But I need to add many more functionalities. How do I add them and most importantly where do I add them. Should I add them in *.ui.h or *.ui or main.cpp coz any other file is over written after compiling. The functionalities I want to add are
1. Multitasking with threads...I plan to have a routine in QT which can work all time...i.e. threaded.
2. when user presses start command button... i save a the values in 5 different textboxes in a file
3. Take in a data from another file and show it to the user in LCD.

Please help me as I am not very good at QT but have to do this work as a part of a bigger project.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend taking some time to work through the examples and demos which come with QT. There are a lot of them, and they cover all of the tasks you mentioned.

The QT documentation is second to none in my opinion. I would take a look at the following classes: QThread, QFile, QTextStream, QVariant (if you want to save numbers to a file using a human-readable string, this class will help you with the conversion to C integer or float types).

Also, do try to understand the signal/slot mechanism. This is thread safe, so you can pass data between thread using this mechanism without worrying about all that stuff.
