sockets in C++

Hi,

1 - I'm used to program in Java and in C. I would like to know if, I want to build a socket application in C++, should I use any special library, beside the standard C library? Or, should I encapsulate a socket application made in C, inside an object oriented design made in C++? Or, should i put a standard C application inside a hpp file?

Thanks,
Pedro

It really depends on how you are using C++. Personally, I would use standard BSD sockets API. For a specifically object-oriented wrapper library, you might also try something like this or this. You might also write your own thin wrapper like this.
