simple c graphics


is there any graphices functions(header file) under character mode
like we have graphics.h under Boroland C

you'll want to use a toolkit like gtk, tk or qt.

SDL is nice,if you would like to use X to draw some graphics on.
Its a bit like direct draw from MS .sdl profides other stuff as well.
You can download sdl form www.libsdl.org

Question help needed in graphics under c

hi all... i've been trying to use graphics,h in linux but in vain..i want to design an interface for my project in c (linux platform)....how should i go about it?
plz help me..

in text mode i think its called curses or ncurses

Its a question of whether you are using the console or the X server (gui interface).

For simple text interfaces you can use Ncurses, which uses the console. But you cannot do graphic routines, like circles or whatnot.

You can use the SDL libraries which support FrameBuffer console graphics and X server graphics as well.

remember, this is linux....you have many choices.

what ncures ..plz hlp me out...i'hv never used linux...i'hv used turbo...i want to draw lines and boxes and use mouse...capture keyboard...what should i do

found Xlib

thank u all..for suggesting me Xlib...i have statred with it ...and getting great results...i am stuck at aplace... i have an endless while loop ....i am trying to capture events for 2 different connections to xlib (which obviously have different display areas ..none is child of the other)...i am recieving events of only one display area....is it possible to do what i am trying ...pls guide me
