Shoes Forum [Ruby GUI]
Hey guys,
Does anyone know if a good forum for Shoes exists? I am starting to work with this GUI toolkit for ruby but I am running into issues. Searching the web has lead me to a google group that doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Is there anyone here that uses Shoes? Maybe I could post my question here?

Hey lmcilwain-
Two things: you're right, the google group is dead. I have good news, though: as it says on the front page:
Quote:
Welcome, and see you later!
or: We have moved! The active mail list is at librelist.
How to join us:
1. Send an email to shoes@librelist.com and in the subject line write: subscribe
2. In a minute or two you get an email. Open it and just hit Reply and Send
3. You then get a confirmation that you've joined. Congrats!
Librelist archives:
How to use the archive:
1. Go to
2. Click to yellow-mark shoes/ about halfway down
3. Click on a day in the calendar in top left to see messages from that day.

Also, you can join the IRC room on Freenode, in #shoes. We'd love to give you a hand.

@Anisha - Thats exactly what I was looking for and since that is a google group as well I am surprised I didn't find it it. When I searched the google groups all I found was the archived dead version of the group.
@steveklabnik - That is even more of what I was looking for. I have just subscribed to the mailing list so I look forward to help with my issues Though I have never joined an IRC before so I am going to have to figure that one out. If you wish and you have time, can you send me a private message with the instructions on how to join that particular one. That would be much appreciated.

Awesome. I haven't seen a post from you to the list, though... you should make one, so we can give you a hand.

Rather than send you a PM, I'll just point you to this: http://blog.hackety-hack.com/post/21...morrows-summit
It's a tiny little IRC getting started guide I put together yesterday. Just substitute #shoes for #hacketyhack, and you'll be good! Also, if you're running Ubuntu, I think you have XChat already installed.

Unfortunately I have sent the subscribe email to the list but I didn't get a confirmation that said that I was a part of the list.
I will definitely check out the link. I am using Mac OS X but I think I have can find an IRC client somewhere for it
