shared to static library

Hello everybody,
Is it possible to take a shared library (.so) and convert it to
a static library (.a) if you don't have the source? I need a
static version of the crypto library but I don't find the libcrypto.a file to link dynamically.

Thank you !

No. But you could probably use LD_PRELOAD.
