selecting python framework

Hi,

I'm planning to develop an web based VoIP system which uses asterisk engine. I found that Asterisk supports most programming languages, and since python has a bright future, I thought it would be great to do this project on python.

I have had experience of web programming with PHP, but I have never used any framework for that. I just use xslt to separate PHP codes from html which I believe makes the code very clear.

I always had feeling that if I write my code on a framework, it will be more efficient. Therefore, I decided to start learning Python on a framework. Based on my search on the internet, I found out that Cherrypy and Django are the most popular python frameworks for web development, but my web application is going to be more like desktop applications and there will be only one page in it which will use AJAX to communicate with the server. That is, I thought that a general framework should be efficient for my case.

What I'm looking for is a framework, which requires me write every piece of code in an object oriented manner. Also, having a rich documentation with multiple examples is always a big plus.

I'm going to start learning python syntaxes and its object oriented features. I hope someone can help me make the best decision.

I appreciate your time reading my post.

Thanks in advance,

Django is "sweet" on the server side.

"prototype.js" is the Swiss Army Knife on the client side.
