selecting a debugger

hi

i am involved in a work that would require study of alot of open source code. For this i need a nice debugger.

I have worked on several debuggers such as gdb, Debugger (kde), Anjuta's debugger
but each of them have their own merits and demerits.

I ve heard of ddd...i ve'nt tried it yet but i ve heard that it is probably the best.
So can anyone tell me which debugger should i select so that i could debug various open source codes.
thank you
