script changing a password

Hi,
I am looking for a program (shell script or other) that will help to automatically modify the password of a user taking the new password in a file or argument.
Thanks

Thanks for the answer,
Unfortunately its works for linux and aix but tru64 does not have "chpaswd" command. So I am writing a script but I have a problem on how to program the ENTER command.
Thanks

Try the Expect language. Designed to automate progs eg passwd that expect to interact with a real user.
