Question Running gmake on Mandrake 9.2

Hi! Can someone help me on how to run qmake from Mandrake 9.2. I have found it (gmake) on one of the directories different to the one containing files I want to compile. I can't copy these file to this \bin directory (where qmake is situated).

How can I compile these file not residing in the qmake directory.
