Reading JPEG Header info

Is there any free software that can read jpeg headers and display on Linux command prompt?
Thanks

Do you want a program that does this or a library to use when writing a program to do this? If it's the former you could have probably picked a better forum.

If you want an already written program then I don't know of any offhand but if you want a lib then libexif should be a good start.

www.imagemagick.org
ImageMagick is free and supplies vaious tools like convert and
indentify -verbose
will print out a whole lot of info about the image (but takes a while)

identify -verbose will deliver the timestamp when the image was shot if this info wasnt erased by camera or software...
