Reading frames from a webcam via the /dev/ interface into a 3 dimensional Array


Hello,
first: excuse my English, I'm from Germany

Is it possible to read a Webcam (it is "mounted" via V4L over the /dev interface as /dev/video0) into a Array like
Type* frame[320][640][8] ?

What OS are you using?
What do you eventually want to do with these images in a 3 dimensional array?
Is there something somewhere that you want to duplicate?
Do you have any code that isn't working you can show us?
What language?
