reading and printing out a text file in html

I currently have four text files that are populated every second using a vb6 app. I need to write an html script that will read and print these values out each second. More specifically I have four text file each containing one number. The four of them printed together would look like this:

123456
12.88
34.99
124.65

When a new file is populated the very next second, I want the numbers above to be replace with the numbers in the new file. Can anybody let me know what I would need to do to make this work?

If this text file exists on the server, you would need to use server-side scripting. If it is a simple application with text file on the client side, you can use JavaScript.

There is no such thing as "HTML Script". HTML is markup. The scripting language has to be embedded within the HTML file. Whether it is JavaScript or whether it is server-side script.
