The question does not have to be directly related to Linux and any language is fair game.

I have a question that I wanted to get lots of opinions on so I thought what better place to ask.
I am looking to write a program for an Eye Doctor's office. What the program will be for, is to keep customers records in a database that can be accessed from all comps in the building. I was thinking client server for the database. I also wanted it to be gui based and run on linux and windows. What would you suggest to be the best programming language to get this done in. I am most likely going to use MySql for the database. All opinions are welcome. Thanks
If you want for a browser based program, PHP, Apache and mySQL would not take you more then a couple of hours to get it done . It can be secured with login/password and is as portable as, well, as any computer with a Browser
