Psuedo domain and referal in DNS Server

Hi,

I am running a system with FEDORA CORE 2. I want to create dummy domains like "mail","help" or even "mail.company" etc. so that others in network don't need to remember and type the whole urls.

I have BIND and PowerDNS available on server. I want to insert a code into any of these soft. so that they can do automatic redirection.

I had a look at the source and have consumed 10 gallons of coffee since. Plz help me and give me a hint as where exactly i need to poke and change.(Any help as into how to change will be greatly helpful).

Thanks.... U have saved me from caffeine addiction and nuetralization.

quite straight forward really, you just need to add a cname record for the domain you wish to create as an alias

http://www.networkclue.com/internet/DNS/bind/

Code:
    www 1D IN CNAME mail.example.com.
so the local www server will also be reached when they go to mail.example.com, which is handy when a single [[apache]] server is needed to dish out both normal www and an online mail interfce for example.
