Programing linux handheld device

Hi,

I have a many Terapin Mines I had bought to eventually program to record sound (.wav) files, and make a program to start and stop recording automatically. When I bought the units the website refered to a mDN - Mine Developers Network where a file crackmis.exe was available that would allow a programer to access the shell and program the unit. Since that time Terapin has gone out of business and I can not find any info on this anywhere. What I do know is it uses 2.2.14 kernel and glibc-2.1.3. Does anyone know anything about how I can ask a programmer to program these units, where to find crackmis.exe, or any other way I might be able to create a program to run on these units.

ANY help or advice would be an enourmous help!!! Thanks!

If this is any help here is some info I found online:

The Mine kernel must have a setup similar to the RPX Lite board.

There are tools to convert a Mine linux kernel (if you manage to cross-compile one) to Motorola's s-record format and finally to the binary format used by Terapin Mine.

Unfortunately, the kernel source used in the Mine is not available on the developer website, but it has most probably been developed using Hardhat Linux from MontaVista, (of course, the vanilla 2.2.14 kernel is online but developers need the patches and source code extensions used by Terapin in order to 'roll' their own distribution).
Example plugins show the use of the Arawana's (internal name of the device and the Mine application that interacts with the user) library which is necessary to produce output on the LCD screen.

The Terapin Mine developer website points to a free toolchain that allows developing software for the Mine. This toolchain has not been used to produce the Mine Linux system or the proprietory application that drives the MP3-HD-photo-download 'device' interface

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
