Program to unzip tarballs?


meh my winzip-tryout-period ended today.

what program is best and forever free to unzip files with?

For .zip files, this program is free, and works:

for .rar:

http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm

IMO any other than winzip is better.
But what has this to do with programming?

On what OS? Strange place to be asking about Windows software here, but if that's what you're after, did you try 7-zip?
