Well it really works, and this is advanced scripting for me. I'd been writing some simple scripts that worked but my logic is so simple, I'm not a good "scripter" but now I understand my script, and my dhcp network can release their ip's automatically (over 1000 every day).

And Yes, it's absolutely clearer than mud . I hope this thread helps someone else...Thanks again man.

My bad. colucix is right, I meant "echo" instead of "cat". AUGH!
