Smile problem:Version 1.4.2 of the JVM is not suitable for this product. Version: 1.5 or gr


I ready for development c on my redhat enterprise5,but can't run it?
the package is eclipse-cpp-ganymede-SR1-linux-gtk.tar.gz.
though. does have other development toll for c or c++ in linux?

To program in C you only need compiler and any text editor (even kedit/gedit will do). Also using build system like "GNU make" or "scons" is recommended.

However, if you want IDE this is another story. To run eclipse you'll need java runtime environment. The list other IDEs is available at wikipedia.
But I'd recommend to use text editor instead (jedit, vim, mcedit, kate or emacs).

Don't write reply, if you are not familiar with a subject - this isn't helping anyone. If you have question, ask it in your own thread.

Eclipse is an IDE, not compiler, it was written in java, and it requires java runtime environment to work.
