printing line numbers for code

I am just wondering how others are printing line numbers within their code. For group reviews it would really be nice to be able to print the line numbers.

My obvious options are either Xemacs from within unix or MS VC++ (6.0). Does anyone know how to get the line numbers to print within Xemacs? VC++ 6.0?

Are there any other nice programs out there to do this? Preferrably freely available open source software.

I guess I could just write a small Perl script but it would be best if it is already built into one of these editors.

Thanks for any help.

Mike

I use KDevelop and that allows me to print my source with line numbers. From the Print dialog under options select Print Line Numbers in the Text Settings tab.

When I have to print something out, I use jEdit (http://www.jedit.org/). It's open source, it has nice syntax highlighting (including line numbers, and with options for mono printers), and it's done entirely in Java, so it runs [almost] everywhere.

You can do it in gedit, just click on "Page Setup" and hit the box that says "Print Line Numbers".

Edit: It also has syntax highlighting too
