PostgreSQL 7.3.2
I have installed PostgreSQL and in my college, I have actually been working on M$ SQL ...so I really donno how to go about starting SQL on PostgreSQL...
Please guide with simpler and easier steps than manual...
Something..where I can write SQL statements and start executing them and find result....
Is there some IDE as in M$ SQL??

Sorry, if you can't follow the very good and concise
readme and html documentation postgresql isn't for
you. I appreciate that many OSS projects have poor
or even misleading documentation, but it's definitly
not the case with postgresql.
PostgreSQL doesn't come with a GUI frontend, you
can, however, download and install things like
PgAccess or PgAdmin.

Well, it isnt that, the manual or the html documents are not easy to understand...I haven't made an attempt to read them....
I just wanted some quick tips for beginning sql....like....
say..
1) Go to terminal
2) write xyz command...
3) do this..
4) do that...
So that I can start faster....
I hope you have understood my point....

I went thru the manual...but they assume that I wud have an admin who wud start the server and ask me to connect to the server...however, I am a student and single user so...I haven't started the server....Cud u atleast help me in starting a server...

Well .. I have no clue how it's being set-up in deadrat,
chances are it's pre-configured via rpm, and up and
running as a service.
Check
ps -A aux | grep post
