Post for linux programmers

I am no programmer. But I do have a question/suggestion to make lilo a little more user friendly. Would it be possible to make a program that on boot/or execute it would search for installed operating systems and if one was found ask for a label for new system and write it to lilo? I myself know my way around lilo but alot of people do not and this would make it pretty user friendly for those who don't know.

Just a suggestion!

On boot, Gujin will search for installed operating systems. Instead of writing the results to lilo it presents you with a menu of operating systems to boot from.:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/gujin/

Gujin is still a little rough and is probably not ready for Center Stage yet. But you should try it and see how you like it.

Netknight - please do not hijack threads, open a new thread under your own name - it's more likely to be seen that way.
