playing/editing Media

I need to find a perl module that will edit mp3 or wav files and split them into tracks, also I need one that will convert them into other formats(cda, mp3, wav, etc.) I looked on CPAN but can't seem to find anything to fit my needs. I don't want to use extrnl programs, because I want this to be a cross-platform program.
