PHP5 - Creating Dynamic Select List - HTML Ignores php code

HI,

I have been following along an example to create a dynamic select list from O'reilly's book PHP and MYSQL web applications.

I could not make it run but discovered it was my procedure in calling it.

I knew I had to have done something really dumb.
