PhP vs Asp

some body can tell me which is the more powerful and efficent.
i have to convince some one

Php or Asp in managing data base

asp is loser. But asp.net is good. Php is good too. So compare php with asp.net not asp.

I disagree that ASP isn't good. I think its a good starter language. I haven't tried .net since I dont have a gjillion pounds to by XP professional. But ASP is easy to learn and you can do all you want.

However that said PHP is better in many ways and I use that now. I'd give both a shot and see which you like. Or find out which your webserver supports.

I am going to have to say niether and both. It all depends on what you are doing, and how much you know about your language. People are always quick to day my, language can do this, and your can't well. The truth is, there aren't many things one language can do that another can't do.

It is all going to be based, on you and your coding skills.

Now my personal favorite is perl for CGI, and mod_perl.

If I had to choose between ASP, and PHP. I would be PHP, because I am a hell of a lot better at using that than I am at using ASP.
