php search array

I am looking for advice. I am using a search class that searches across all fields of a table and returns an array containing the primary keys that meet the keyword search. You can see it here:
http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Coo.../Recipe/125901

My current plan is to place these primary keys into a string like this:

foreach($results_array as $result){
$search_string= $search_string." AND ".$result;
}

select from table where primarykey='$search_string'

Can anyone think of a better or more efficient way to work with this class? Or maybe a different search class I might want to use?

Thanks

If you are using mysql you can use fulltext indexing for fast searches.

Yes that is a great option, I am a little concerned about the comment "Loading data into a table that already has a FULLTEXT index could be significantly slower." from the mysql page. But a great idea I will give it a try.
Thanks
