PHP on Fedora 14

Hello,
Do I need to add extension=/path/to/extension/msql.so to my php.ini file like I do on Windows installation? Also where would they be on linux if you do need to? Thank you in advance.

Thanks,
Micah

two things
first of all, were php and mysql loaded from the repositories? if so than all you really need to do is run
Code:
su -c 'yum install php-mysql'
if you installed them from source than php needs to be recompiled against the newly installed mysql installation

also i would consider upgrading to fedora 15, f14 is nearing the end of it's support cycle

I am still installing some things so I will try to install php-mysql when it is done. I have turned on httpd and mysql service but will have to reboot after everything finishes installing. I have edited httpd.conf and php.ini but I did not see any extensions in the php.ini so I was just wondering. PHP was not working before I edited those files. Thank you for letting me know about version 15, however, I purchased a textbook on 14 and as far as installing Fedora 14 it was the most stable Fedora that I have ever installed. Almost everything installed without any difficulties and has been runing on a external hard drive on another computer without any problems. I can say I might be a little biased. I do have 15 installed on my windows computer in a virtual machine. I did install the rpms but almost wish I did it manually since I do not even know if pear comes already installed as well.

Thank You,
Micah

on fedora by default you won't find extensions in /etc/php.ini
you will find them in their own individual ini files in /etc/php.d

I read that to. However there was not a file created in /etc. I rebooted as well. I believe everything is setup ok except I get that I am forbidden. I assume I am going to have to chmod on the directory. I am just running something like: <?php phpinfo() ?> which should give me some output. That is from a book I am reading on php.

Thank You,
Micah
