Perl - GD Modules

I'm trying to use the GD module along with Squid-graph, that makes graphics of access with logs from Squid.
The situation of my pc is...

cpan> install GD
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata
Database was generated on Wed, 29 Mar 2006 15:44:03 GMT
GD is up to date.

So it's installed...
Other meaningful modules installed are:

=head2 Thu Oct 20 09:41:57 2005: C<Module> L<GD|GD>
=head2 Thu Oct 20 09:41:59 2005: C<Module> L<GD::Text|GD::Text>
=head2 Thu Oct 20 09:42:01 2005: C<Module> L<GD::Graph|GD::Graph>

But when i run the program i get the following:

Can't load '/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/GD/' for module GD: /usr/lib/ undefined symbol: overflow2 at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.3/i386-linux-thread-multi/ line 229.

Compilation failed in require at /var/www/squid-graph-3.1/bin/squid-graph line 16.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /var/www/squid-graph-3.1/bin/squid-graph line 16.

I searched every file listed, and each one is there in the right place... Any guesses ?

what about a reinstall of libgd2? looks like a shared object error..nothing to do with the perl module.
