Oracle 9i client with Oracle 8i server

I wonder whether an Oracle 9i client can communicate with an Oracle 8i server.... Also, what about the Enterprise Manager? Would it still be possible to create a database from an Oracle 9i client on an Oracle 8i server?

Yes.

For example we have PC-based 7.3 Oracle forms that work with a 8i HPUX Server and also work with 9i on HPUX.

The problem is going the other way: from a 9i client down to an 8i server.
