opengl programming question

Hi. I would really appreciate any suggestions to my inquiry.

I'm going to be involved in a medium-sized group project, and we will be developing software to display scientific data.

We would like to use openGl, but we are not sure which windowing toolkit we should use. Glut is quite basic, and doesn't contain the widgets necessary.

From my research so far, it seems that GLUI would be the way to go. I've tried SDL and GLOW, but have been unable to get either to compile (although I've only tried under windows).

Thanks for any suggestions.
