Question Obtaining data from the Sound Card's AD converter

Hello forum.

Does anybody know how to coding a program in C, to obtain data from the AD converter that comes inside the sound cards? I need to take the data output from a sensor, which gives it as an analog tension up to 4V. I know that is possible to plug the sensor output to the line input, then by means of a program, take the digitalized signal.
Thanks in advance,
